By Car If you are coming by car make your way to either Burntisland or Kirkcaldy on the A92. Then take the B923 road (signposted for Kinghorn Loch). If you are coming from Burntisland take the first left at the sign after passing Kinghorn Loch . If you are coming from Kirkcaldy take the first right at the sign after passing the outskirts of Kinghorn You will see our sign 300 meters further on. Please note limited car parking is available by the Loch side, additional car parking is available on the East side of the Loch. Parking in the courtyard is only available to visitors with mobility problems. We suggest you please try to share transport.
By Coach:If you are traveling by large coach, we strongly recommend that Car Parking facilities by the East side of the Loch are utilised (this is just a few minutes walk to the entrance of the site).
Directions to East Loch side Car Park:As you arrive from the B923, turn in to the country road which displays The Ecology Centre’s Welcome sign. Approximately 300 yards along this lane, take the left-hand opening into a small lay-by area which then leads on to a tree-lined road (this road runs parallel to our main site entrance). Follow the road around towards the Loch. The Car Park provides a comfortable drop off and turning point for larger vehicles. Pedestrians are then able to gain access to the site through a small gap in the trees.
By Train Kinghorn is well served by public transport. The station is on the main London/Edinburgh/Aberdeen line. The Ecology Centre is 15 to 20 minutes walk from the station/village. Leave the railway station on the north side and turn right to walk along the north side of the main street until you reach the lane just past the Co-op. Go straight ahead following the pedestrian access path and carry on to the top of Barclay Road. At the T-junction, turn left onto Kilcruik Road and follow the road to the crossroad at the edge of the village. Go straight ahead onto the country road and turn left at the signpost. Follow the private road which leads you to the site.
